You’ve Got Questions? Read On…

If you’ve been curious about the P-Shot® Procedure but are still unsure whether it’s for you, we’ve pulled together the top 15 questions patients ask us about the procedure so you can make a more informed decision.

If you’re unsure what the P-Shot® Procedure is, we’ve written about it here. Now, let’s get to it. The top 15 questions patients ask us about the P-Shot® Procedure!

1. Is the P-Shot® Procedure painful?

This is a great question! If you’ve already researched the P-Shot® Procedure, you may have read that it’s minimally invasive. But what does that mean exactly? In terms of pain, you may feel a pressure or slight pinch. We’re talking less “ouch” and more “Oh, was that it?”

2. How long before I can see results?

Everyone is different. Some men will see improvements in size, shape, and duration within hours. For others, it could take weeks or a few months. If you’re impatient to see the results, know that your partner is supporting you all the way!

3. Who is the ideal candidate?

The P-Shot® Procedure is ideal for men with erectile dysfunction or Peyronie’s Disease or for men looking to add a little magic to the bedroom.

4. Is the procedure covered by insurance?

Most insurance plans do not cover the cost of the P-Shot® Procedure, as it is generally considered an elective or cosmetic procedure.

5. How many treatments will I need?

Remember when we said everyone is different? Same here. The number of treatments required depends on the severity of your condition, age, health status, and specific goals. Some men might only need a shot every 1-2 years, and others more frequently. During your initial consultation, we’ll give you a personalized assessment based on your unique circumstances and expectations. Please consider this a collaborative process where we monitor your progress and adjust as we go.

6. Is the P-Shot® Procedure FDA approved?

The procedure involves using PRP, a substance derived from your own blood. While the FDA approves the devices for preparing PRP, it does not explicitly endorse the P-Shot® Procedure. PRP therapy, however, is widely used and accepted in various medical treatments, including orthopedics and aesthetics, for its regenerative properties.

7. I have a heart condition. Is this procedure still right for me?

We take a holistic approach to the body. If you have a heart condition, this could be contributing to issues in the bedroom. If so, the P-Shot® Procedure is an excellent solution to help improve blood flow to the penis. And because it uses your body’s own healing mechanisms, it doesn’t have the same risk factors for stroke, heart attack, and headache as vasodilator medications.

8. What should I do if I see no improvement?

Not all men will respond to the procedure in the same way. Call us if you are still waiting to notice improvement after several months. It could be you have a health condition affecting your performance. Or you might need the support of a therapist or counselor.

9. Are there any risks or side effects?

Because the P-Shot® Procedure uses your own plasma, it’s considered safe. You might experience some minor bruising or swelling at the injection site, but you should be able to resume sexual activity within a few days or when the bruising heals. Serious side effects, like infection and scarring, are rare.

10. Is there any downtime after the procedure?

One of the advantages of the P-Shot® Procedure is the minimal downtime required. Most men can return to their daily activities immediately after the procedure. Hold off on sex until the bruising and swelling heal, though.

11. Are the results permanent?

The P-Shot® Procedure is long-lasting but not permanent. Fortunately, you can just come back in and get another when the effects have worn off.

12. How long does the procedure take?

From beginning to end, the whole procedure can take a couple of hours, like a long lunch break. We don’t recommend eating your lunch during the procedure, though. 🙂

13. Do I need to do anything special to prepare for the procedure?

We recommend you abstain from NSAIDs 1 to 2 weeks before the procedure and two weeks after the procedure as they interfere with the PRP regenerative response. Also, we will draw blood, so make sure you’re hydrated and have eaten a snack beforehand.

14. Will it help with premature ejaculation?

While the procedure wasn’t developed as a cure for premature ejaculation, it does offer all the benefits of having a more prolonged, hard erection, which may reduce the chances of premature ejaculation.

15. What makes the P-Shot® Procedure different from other ED treatments?

Traditional ED treatments are geared toward symptom management via oral medications like Viagra. The P-Shot® Procedure, though, is regenerative, so you’re actually healing your body and stimulating the growth of new blood vessels and tissue in the penis. Oral medications also require planning around sexual activity. The P-Shot® Procedure is different: you can be spontaneous!

Hopefully, we’ve answered a few of your questions regarding the P-Shot® Procedure!
